At Great Ideas Company, we are committed to unlocking the full potential of students and educators through innovative, creative, collaborative and engaging teaching techniques. With our step-by-step instruction, educators can learn how to incorporate learning through the arts in their lesson plans and curriculums to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences. We firmly believe that learning through the arts deepens student learning and engagement, making education more exciting and fulfilling for students and educators.

Your Pro D will take you step by step through finding ways to teach core subject content with art and to take the core subject matter and create art. Giving students permission and the power to create will surprise you with amazing results. We love the challenges you can bring us in using arts in education in your classroom.

Think about it. Art reflects the times so it has an obvious use in teaching social studies, history, politics and social trends by itself. Most arts employ some form of math from counting to complex design. The arts bring tactile learning, visual learning, auditory learning, kinesthetic learning, social learning, and yes, even logical learning. How many learners does this hit in your classroom? Wouldn't it be great to engage all of them?

Think about using dance, music, visual art, digital art, creative writing, theatre, and film to allow students to display their learning turning a core learning concept into an art form in a meaningful way.

Think about looking at teaching a learning concept or outcome using any of the above art forms. What if you used dance to teach science concepts, visual art in math or social studies, music in physics, and/or theatre in social studies?

The obvious result of adding the arts is creativity in a classroom. Also realize the value of collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, confidence building, focus, perseverance, and practice that all come in this learning process.

When specific skills and techniques are taught in dance, drama, music, and visual arts, students are learning “in” the arts. When these skills and techniques are used to teach concepts in health education, language arts, math, science, and social studies, or where these subject concepts are turned "into" arts, students are learning “through” the arts.

We can guide you through lesson idea development, planning and execution so that you are successful when you introduce learning through the arts in your lessons, classroom or school.

We offer Pro D in three-hour classes online for individuals or we can customize times and prices for groups. On-site options are negotiated as delivery costs can vary.
